Wichita
State University, founded in 1895 as a Congregational
institution, is distinguished from other state supported
schools in Kansas by its urban setting. Wichita State's
location in the largest city in Kansas enhances the
traditional classroom experience by providing students
greater opportunities in resources, contacts with
business and government leaders, employment, and
internships.
With
an enrollment of more than 15,000, Wichita State
prides itself on specialized attention
to each student.
Although the University's students come from almost
every state in America and 110 foreign countries,
87 percent are from Kansas, representing nearly
all counties in the state.
