EMC/EMI Testing

Description

Our facilities have full testing capabilities conforming to the standards listed below.

CISPR

CISPR 12 - contains the limits designed to provide protection for broadcast receivers in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 1 000 MHz when used in the residential environment.

This standard applies to the emission of electromagnetic energy which may cause interference to radio reception and which is emitted from:

  1. Vehicles propelled by an internal combustion engine, electrical means or both
  2. Boats propelled by an internal combustion engine, electrical means or both. Boats are to be tested in the same manner as vehicles except where they have unique characteristics as explicitly stated in this standard
  3. Devices equipped with internal combustion engines or traction batteries

CISPR 25 - contains limits and procedures for the measurement of radio disturbances in the frequency range of 150 kHz to 2 500 MHz. The standard applies to any electronic/electrical component intended for use in vehicles, trailers and devices.
Front door coupling occurs when RF energy radiates from the PED and couples directly inot the aircraft radio receiver antennas

SAE J551-5

Specifies measurement procedures and performance levels for magnetic and electric field emissions and conducted power mains emissions over the frequency range 150 kHz to 30 MHz, for vehicles incorporating electric propulsion systems, e.g., battery, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

SAE J551-5

Specifies a vehicle test method for determining the immunity of passenger cars and commercial vehicles to electrical disturbances from off-vehicle radiation sources, regardless of the vehicle propulsion system (e.g. spark-ignition engine, diesel engine, electric motor). It can also be readily applied to other types of vehicles. The electromagnetic disturbances considered are limited to narrowband electromagnetic fields.
